CES has negotiated brokerage agreements with a number of qualified competitive electricity providers in Maine. The list of such qualified suppliers is constantly changing as we review the financial conditions and performance of energy companies doing retail business in Maine.

    • Constellation New Energy - the unregulated retail affiliate of Constellation Power Source, the parent company of Baltimore Gas and Eclectic. New Energy is an investment grade company with offices throughout the country, providing retail electricity service to commercial and industrial customers. Moody's Baa1.
    • Dominion - operates as both a regulated utility (formerly Virginia Power) and as an unregulated provider of both electricity and natural gas. The company was founded by George Washington and James Madison. Moody's Baa1.
    • WPS Energy Services - the unregulated retail affiliate of WPS Resources Corporation (which includes Wisconsin Public Service). WPS Energy Services is an investment grade company providing retail energy services to commercial and industrial customers in New England, New York, the upper Midwest and Atlantic Canada. Moody's A1.
    • Select Energy - the marketing, unregulated affiliate of Northeast Utilities. Select Energy is based in Berlin, CT, is an investment grade company and currently provides natural gas and electricity services to commercial and industrial customers from the mid-Atlantic through New England. Moody's Baa1
    • Tractebel Energy Services - an affiliate of worldwide energy giant Suez Lyonnais des Eaux, an investment grade company, Tractebel provides retail electricity services to commercial and industrial customers in New England, the mid-Atlantic states and Texas. Moody's A2.
    • TransCanada - a large integrated energy company with significant electricity generation resources and natural gas transmission assets in the U.S. and Canada. TransCanada is an investment grade company providing electricity to commercial and industrial customers in New England. Moody's A2.
